Tough Conversations

This was originally posted as a Tip of the Week brought to you by TIPINIONS www.tipinions.com (on Apr 24/23).

We felt the need to take it one step further and add it to the Important Information tab to be read anytime without going looking for it in a post as many would not necessarily see it there.

After writing my last post it brought some other topics to mind that a lot of people don’t like to think about, never mind discuss.

Wills, Life Insurance, Critical or Disability Insurance, Health Care Directives (Living Wills), Funeral Arrangements, Death, Obituary and so forth.

I feel very fortunate in my life as my dad sold life insurance when I was young. The subject of death, wills, insurance, what would happen when or if, all of these topics were a regular conversation that was very open and honest. So, we never thought anything different.

When I grew up and would have these conversations with friends, that is when I learned that most people shudder at these conversations and don’t want to discuss.

These are very important discussions to have with yourself, your partner and your loved ones – we discussed these at a young age and I never worried about what could happen, as I knew there was a plan in place, which gave me a sense of peace.

They are things that you need to be in control of and have the necessary preparations completed prior to the unforeseen happening.

It is better to be in control of this than leave it to someone else. Especially your Living Will and your Will. These are items that will be in control of someone who doesn’t even know you to decide, if you don’t or allow the Government to get involved in your personal affairs.

I am going to break these down individually to provide a summary of details. What you choose to do with that information is then in your capable hands.

Over the next few weeks, I am going to touch on each topic separately to give you some ideas and food for thought.

I hope that the information provided either solidifies decisions you have already made or creates a desire to look into it further and encourage others to do that as well!

Questions to Ponder:

Do you have your affairs in order?

Do you discuss these with others?

Have you updated yours throughout the years?

Have you allowed yourself to complete these different steps for your life, for your future?
